Our Collection

Our collection documents everyday life in the Saanich area from the early settlers to modern day. This project began in 1967 and visitors will see displays of weaving and textiles, a general store and Haberdashery, a music room with an authentic nickelodeon and old fashioned printing presses. Outside we have an amazing collection of old tractors, steam engines and farming equipment, water pumps, a blacksmiths shop and a saw mill to view.

We have a staggering 30,000+ artefacts in our collection! They range from industrial steam engines to antique thimbles, medical equipment and antique recording machines. We even have over 2000 old Edison records, here is a link to hear a cylinder recording.

Cataloguing Our Collection

We are developing an on-line searchable museum catalogue of artefacts which you can access via the button below. This is an ongoing project and we are always looking for volunteers to help! If you are interested, please get in touch.
